Science is one of the core subjects along with English and Maths, and consequently takes a large part of the students' timetable. The Science curriculum is linked to the QCA schemes of work published by the government, but further enriched by the use of new programmes of study from Cambridge University.

Science is taught mainly through practical tasks that allow the students to develop ideas and concepts and key investigation skills, such as manipulating equipment and handling data.

There are two fully equipped Science laboratories where the majority of teaching years 6, 7 and 8 takes place. Year 5 remain in their classrooms for their science lessons. All classes are taught as mixed ability groups.

ICT is a major part of Science in the school and as such both Labs have been fitted with Smart Boards. These are used for projecting video clips and graphic simulations of complex concepts.
